Dagnia Alfasi (20) and Kinneret Goldstein (22) recently returned from Belgrade to their native Israel. As they say, they decided to visit Serbia because they were looking for a “green country” that does not require a test for the corona virus or quarantine upon entry, but they would not return to our country.
They enjoyed the scenery and views, but didn’t like, as they point out, the fact that Serbs “look at them because they are fat.”
– Serbs are not pleasant at all. We are, let’s say, fat, fuller, call it what you want, and they have no conscience of fat people at all. We are there as aliens. They stare at you, they make us feel uncomfortable. When it comes to buying, they have very specific models for thin people with a strong complexion. There are no clothes for fat people there. I found a store and it really was senior clothing. It was a real hole, Kineret told the Israeli “Harec” at the Tel Aviv airport.
As she explains, she walked into a store in Belgrade and the saleswomen looked at her and started laughing.
As they say, they faced these kinds of situations thanks to the advice of a girl they met on the plane who told them to look back at everyone who was looking at them and not to turn their heads.
– It was a disgusting feeling. They were just looking at us. I also retaliated and stared at them – Kineret said.
