The president of the Free Citizens Movement (PSG), Sergej Trifunović, told the Beta agency today that he will respond to Boris Tadić’s invitation to tomorrow’s meeting on the “new opposition action strategy”.
“I received an invitation from Boris Tadic and I will attend that meeting. I am always open to conversations and I look forward to healthy and constructive suggestions. That is all I can say at this time,” Trifunovic said.
The president of the “Doors” movement, Bosko Obradovic, announced that he would not attend that meeting and told Beti that Tadic could not be the “moderator” of the opposition talks.
“If the old regime led by Boris Tadic had been good, the ‘progressives’ (SNS) would not have come to power. “The fact that the current government is even worse does not mean that we should go back to the previous regime,” said the Dveri leader.
Obradovic added that the opposition must agree and that all kinds of cooperation are needed to overthrow the current government.
“The Serbian movement Dveri will always respond to conversations within the opposition, but in advance we suggest that the moderator be someone who has not been in power until now. It can also be a supra-party person that we all agree on,” he said. .
President Dveri emphasized that by changing the current Serbian government, the whole “corrupt system” must be changed, and therefore “there is no going back.”
The Vice President of the Freedom and Justice Party, Borko Stefanović, told Beti that he did not want to comment on Tadić’s invitation.
Other opposition parties could not say whether they would attend the scheduled meeting.
Boris Tadic announced today that he has sent an invitation to all leaders of the opposition parties for a meeting tomorrow Wednesday at 12:00 at his party premises.
“Proposing this initiative certainly does not mean that I want to take a leadership role in the opposition, and the strategy I propose is aimed at ending that fight for first place on the Titanic.” In that sense, vanity should not be a reason not to respond to the invitation that I sent, “said Tadic.
He expressed his confidence that the opposition leaders will respond to his call and listen to his proposal, “since I have shown confidence in all his previous proposals.”
Tadic added that he would propose a strategy that he is “convinced is the best and fastest way to conquer this regime.”
“It’s a strategy where all of our differences would eventually start working for us, and not against us,” Tadic said without explanation.
