A boycott is no longer an option for the Free Citizens Movement, PSG leader Sergej Trifunovic said tonight, while Social Democratic Party president Boris Tadic says there is no decision on participation in the elections yet and will pleads with Bosko Obradovic to end the hunger strike.

Tadic also noted that he believes that unifying the opposition is the only way to win. To overcome the current situation and continue the idea of a boycott even when the elections end, let’s win parliamentary seats, but let’s not get into parliament, let’s leave seats empty, Tadic said in the Insider debate on H1 TV.

The idea of empty spaces in a symbolic visual sense is very important, images are important in politics, it allows the international community to know that something is wrong in Serbia, Tadic said.

Trifunovic evaluated that Tadic presented that proposal as a Solomonic solution, because from the beginning he was against the idea of a boycott, “he knows how useless it is.”

The international community, MEPs and ambassadors say the same thing: People enter the system so that we can help them, we cannot help them if they are outside the system, Trifunovic said.

Trifunovic added that the state of emergency helped PSG make a decision about participating in the elections.

They tried to suspend parliament, which tells me only one thing: that parliament is not important to them. And that is the National Assembly, and it is ours, and we have promised in that famous Agreement with the people that we will fight by all legitimate means, and where it will be more legitimate than going to the polls, said the leader of the PSG.

Speaking about the hunger strike that the leader of Dveri, Boško Obradović, has been conducting in front of the Assembly for several days, Trifunović said that he had visited it, but that he thought the strike was pointless.

Tadic believes that even the departure before the steps of the opposition representatives was pointless and shows no strength.

The problem is the gradation of the protests and the inexperience in politics. The biggest manifestations of non-acceptance of something in politics should not be addressed, especially not immediately, Tadic explained.

My suggestion is to think it over and my request is that Obradović end the hunger strike, Tadić said.
