Today, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met with the Politburo member of the CPC China Central Committee and the Director of the Central Commission on Foreign Relations Office Yang Jiechi.

Vučić and Young first spoke tete-a-tete, and then a meeting of the two delegations followed.

President Vučić first thanked Yang for the message and greetings sent by Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

– We will never forget his arrival in Smederevo and the fact that he saved his job for more than 12,000 people – said Vučić, emphasizing that trade between the two countries is growing despite the pandemic.

Vučić asked the Chinese official that his country continue to invest in Serbia.

– We want to thank China for supporting our territorial integrity. It is not easy to maintain a friendship with much power. Serbia will continue to build sincere friendship with China. We are a small country in terms of size and number of inhabitants, but we have a big heart and, above all, we want to preserve our independence, Vučić said.

The President of Serbia asked Yang to convey a warm greeting to Jiping.

– I ask my friend Jipping to come to Serbia when the pandemic passes and to convince himself again that our hospitality is unparalleled in this part of the world – said Vučić, emphasizing that he learned a lot by talking with Yang.

The Chinese official said that through the previous meetings between Vučić and Điping, it gives a clear direction to the future relations between our two countries.

– We have realized this through development projects in recent years. Our friendship is ironclad. Under his leadership, economic development has been a resounding success. Serbia’s growth rate is among the highest in Europe. The reputation of Serbia is growing – said Young and congratulated Vučić on the success of the Serbian Progressive Party in the elections.
