After visiting the educational institutions in Zajear, he announced that before tomorrow’s session of the Serbian Government, a final decision will be made on how to teach classes for the lower grades of primary school in the next term.
“We have developed two or three models. We also take into account what parents say, taking into account that it is really ungrateful to leave children of that age at home, if both parents have a work obligation. We will see if the lower primary Las Classes will go online from Monday. Classes or we will do some combination, “said the minister, as reported by the Glas Zajeara portal.
He added that “for now” it is not realistic “nor is it possible” for preschool institutions to be placed under “that regime.”
It should be recalled that Prime Minister Ana Brnabi claimed after the Crisis tab session that kindergartens are still running, while primary school students in grades 1 to 4 will likely move to online classes starting Monday, at least for one week.
“We cannot close the kindergarten, that is why they continue to operate, but the utmost caution and respect for the measures is needed. If there are educators who have not yet been vaccinated, I urge them to contact us to finish it sooner.” Brnabi said.
When it comes to lower elementary students, they will likely be in online classes starting Monday, because that was also the Crisis Tab recommendation, the prime minister added.
As she said, the online teaching system is ready for the basics, but parents need some time to prepare for that.
It says that what it will be like for elementary students in grades 1 through 4 will be considered and all options are considered, as well as that the state will try to close all schools.
“If there is a serious need somewhere, we see if we can open it. However, these are extraordinary circumstances and we have to see how we can make concessions to keep our children safe,” he explained.
