The epidemiologist and member of the Crisis Staff for the repression of the coronavirus, Branislav Tiodorović, confirmed that the Crisis Staff proposed to tighten the measures in the fight against the epidemic for two weeks, which would further shorten the working hours of some branches of the economy.

During a guest appearance on the Serbian Radio and Television (RTS) program “Questionnaire”, Tiodorović said that the catering and service facilities will be able to operate until 5 pm only on business days, and that the measure should come into effect. December 4. if it is adopted by the Government of Serbia.

He indicated that grocery stores will be able to work every day until 9:00 p.m., including weekends, and the hours of pharmacies, gas stations and food delivery will not be shortened.

He added that theaters and cinemas can be open every day until 5 p.m., including weekends, while the markets will run regularly from Monday to Friday and on weekends from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We want to reduce contacts. That is our basic task, to reduce the spread of infection and pressure on hospitals,” Tiodorović emphasized.

He said he hoped the Serbian Government would take the proposed measures, which he claimed that crisis staff had previously proposed.

He pointed out that “those who care about the economy” must understand that the medical part of the Crisis Staff demands that these measures remain in effect until December 15, “and not for three months.”

Speaking about malls work and “Black Friday”, Tidorović said that he had been in favor of closing malls before, before “Black Friday”.
