Branislav Tiodorović, a member of the government crisis staff for the suppression of the coronavirus epidemic, estimated that the introduction of “more severe” measures should be considered if the number of new infected daily reaches 1,500.

He stated for Blic that, taking into account the current epidemiological situation and the number of patients in Serbia, “it is not yet the time to introduce the curfew.”

“Now we are still well below the number that exists around us and in Europe because we are among the three countries with the lowest rate per 100,000 active cases, and there are also Estonia, Norway and Turkey, while all the others are in a much higher level of risk, “said Tiodorović.

He estimated that an increase in the number of new infections can be expected in the next 10 to 15 days.

“If we cannot suppress the arrogant behavior that is happening, parties, nights out and music shows, we can expect that there will be an increase in the number,” added the epidemiologist.
