The extension of the autumn holidays will be considered, not only for primary school children, then the situation in kindergartens, the possible shortening of the work of catering facilities, and consideration should be given to reducing the ban on meetings of 30 to 10 or even 5 people.

BELGRADE – Due to the alarming situation regarding the number of new infected with the corona virus, the Crisis Staff of the Government of Serbia for the fight against the crown is ambushed today at noon!

Let us remind you that, for two days in a row, Serbia has more than 2,000 infected people, the hospital is filling up hour by hour, and Belgrade is running out of space. In the last 24 hours alone, there were more than 100 receptions in Belgrade.

Dr. Branislav Tiodorović said crisis staff were considering the possibility that all schools in the country would be on vacation from Monday, November 9 to Friday, November 13, and that students would return to their desks on Monday, November 16. .

– I estimate that we will have the peak of the crown between November 10 and 15, and that is why it is important that we all respect the measurements. And we also want to lower and control the epidemiological curve by extending the fall pause. According to the school plan, the holiday was supposed to be for elementary school children from November 11, when the national holiday is Reconciliation Day, until November 13. The holiday would be for students from all over Serbia, including Vojvodina, which otherwise has a slightly different calendar than the rest of Serbia. Although there is no fall break on the calendar for high school students, only November 11 is free, and it should be featured for them as well, Tiodorović noted.

He added that the situation in kindergartens will be discussed today in the Crisis Staff, as well as the possible shortening of the work of the restoration facilities. He added that the possibility of reducing the meeting ban from 30 to 10 or even five people should also be considered.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabić said there would be no school closings, and Education Minister Branko Ružić said crisis staff would also consider a proposal to extend the fall and winter holidays for children, which this year will last until November 11 and 15.

Crisis staff member Branislav Tiodrovic said yesterday that when the number of newly infected exceeds 2,000, which happened in Serbia, the only effective measure is to close all catering facilities after 9pm and limit meetings to a maximum of five people.

Epidemiologist and staff member Predrag Kon said that the epidemiological situation was deteriorating and was turning from unfavorable to an emergency, and that mass gatherings and risky contacts should be avoided.
