BELGRADE – The crisis headquarters for the fight against kovid 19 should hold a session in the coming days, and the main topic will be the new measures for all our citizens who should come to Serbia for the holidays in the next period, said the epidemiologist and crisis staff member Predrag Kon.
The exact date of the new crisis staff session is not yet known and, as reported in the newspaper, it will take place no later than Friday. Kon said that the medical part of the crisis staff discusses new measures every day, that they wrote the proposals and sent them for consideration.
“They mainly refer to measures for our citizens who come to Serbia for the New Year and the Christmas holidays,” Kon said.
Among these proposals is the introduction of PCR tests upon entering the country, but also the possible quarantine and isolation. When asked if a CRP test would be mandatory for them, he said the profession “fully suggested what would be done.”
Kon believes that the alternative is the entry of large numbers of people who do not know they are infected, who will develop the disease and seek hospitalization in Serbia, and points out that Serbia cannot be expected to put up with that. “Closing the border is impossible, if the state brings it, we will not care. It is clear that it has not yet been discussed,” Kon said.

– Preparations must be made there, we will have to have quarantines and isolations, that will be discussed at the next meeting – he said.
It also explains that if it were decided to close the maximum, there would certainly not be that many numbers, but at the same time life would stop.
– It’s not for me to judge. Our biggest problem is not what happened, but what will come. We have to look forward, the New Year holidays are approaching, although we manage to calm it a bit with these measures, by behaving as if nothing is happening, we will have a blast after the New Year – our expert is clear about it.
Speaking yesterday about the fact that many citizens have already reserved places for the New Year celebration, Kon noted that “it is not realistic.”
– The fact that some people do it, which is why they book New Years celebrations and receptions, is just not realistic at the moment – says Dr. Predrag Kon loud and clear.
It should be remembered that the ban on the operation of cafes, restaurants, clubs and all other catering facilities is currently in force in Serbia on weekdays after 5 pm, but also on weekends. For now, officially, only until December 15, but there is little doubt that it will be extended. And the adoption of new measures is not excluded.
– For the holidays, the situation will be difficult because the pressure on the hospitals will continue to be great. The measures will be in force as long as it is necessary, personally I think they could be stricter – said Dr. Kon a few days ago.
