Every day, the information about the “attacks” of the corona virus continues to worry everyone in Serbia. In the last 24 hours alone, 57 patients died and 7,818 were infected again. There are 289 patients on ventilators in hospitals in Serbia.
Kurir Television’s cameras have entered the red zone of the new Kovid hospital in Batajnica. As of Friday, almost 400 patients have arrived. The youngest is 27 years old, and the oldest 91, and they all have a severe clinical picture.
“They are bilateral, bilateral pneumonias. They are people who, if they had not come to the hospital on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I guarantee that they would not be alive,” says Dr. Tatjana Adzic Vukicevic, director of the Kovid hospital in Batajnica.
Intensive care doctors and nurses monitor each patient. Sometimes there are several of them around a bed, in case of complications in the patient. They fight the virus heroically, but also with spacesuits, visors, masks and other equipment.
During the day reinforcements arrived in the form of more doctors and nurses who immediately began to help their companions.
“More nurses from the Institute for Mother and Child and from Tirsova will arrive on Thursday,” added Dr. Adzic Vukicevic.
Relatives and relatives cannot visit patients, but a call center should be operating very soon, through which they will be able to get all the information about their loved ones.
