“This is sad and morbid”

Terrible, sad, disappointing, shocking and even morbid are the words with which the inhabitants of Čačak have been commenting on the pillars of the city for several days, in which, in addition to obituaries pasted, there are notices to celebrate New Year’s Eve, and even the repetition of the celebration.

Although it is not certain that all or some of the people who died from the consequences of the corona virus, this gesture of the catering astonished the people of Čačak. While people are dying, and the whole country is still in an unfavorable situation in terms of the number of sick and deceased, the citizens of Čačak wonder what it is like for someone to celebrate at such a difficult time.

Yesterday, in the last 24 hours, 65 new patients were registered in Čačak.

“It is a fight for each life, for each hospital bed, the posters calling for New Year’s Eve are nonsense. There are strict regulations that prohibit any type of meeting and I do not know what inspection will allow the celebration in less than 15 days. he said, after which he referred to tomorrow’s feast, the baptismal feast celebrated by the largest number of Serbs, Saint Nicholas.

In other words, it is also known as the celebration that half of the Serbs celebrate, while the other half goes to visit them, which in this situation is a real epidemiological bomb.

“I cannot understand that someone is inviting guests to the celebration now, because in that meeting, one of the guests or the host can become infected and after that, God forbid, die. I wonder how that host will live later knowing that someone in his house got infected and died. There will be celebrations and meetings when this is all over, “Dr. Luković said in a conversation for Rina.

By the way, in the third wave of the corona virus in the Moravica district, more than 130 people died, most of them from Čačak. At the moment, 194 positive and suspected coronavirus patients are hospitalized in the ward of the Čačak General Hospital. The respiratory center accommodates 17 patients, eight of whom are on ventilators.

Precisely because of such crowns of numbers, the invitation to the celebration and the organized celebration of the upcoming holidays is more than disgusting.
