Epidemiologist Predrag Kon told RTS that the data, when it comes to the corona virus, is good and indicates an improvement in the situation, but warns that the virus is still with us and that it should be understood that it will remain for a long time.

Predrag Kon, as a guest on RTS Daily, stated that it is difficult for us to get to zero at all, when it comes to the number of newly infected and the disruption of the first wave.

He considers that there will be an increase in numbers after a certain relaxation of the measures, but emphasizes that in no case is the work of nightclubs allowed, but only the extended day for shops and cafes and restaurants that have gardens.

It indicates that meetings of more than 30 people are prohibited, and therefore celebrations indirectly, and that the bodies that carry out inspections and controls must understand this.

Kon warned that the distance measurement in cafes and restaurants must be respected, and that it is clear that each table must have its own disinfectant.

According to him, if this is not respected, we again rush towards the spread of the virus, and we can barely reduce it after a month.

– We need to understand that this is not a joke and there should be no relaxation. “No one will forgive anyone for filling hospitals like what happened,” Kon said, adding: “I call on the watchdog bodies to do their job now more than ever.”

This is not a sudden indulgence

He adds that even if someone wants to mark the wedding, they can do it with up to 30 people, but affirms that the parties should be postponed because the situation is like that.

Kon mentioned that yesterday all requests were rejected by the crisis staff, and that it was said that it was a sudden relaxation of the measures. He reiterates that nightclubs should never work.

Regarding the recommendation of self-isolation for people who come from summer vacations, Kon said that everyone should be vigilant, if they come from countries where the transmission of the virus is increased, to endanger themselves and the environment.

Also remember that the recommendation that children coming from those countries attend classes online for a period of ten days is valid.

Of the neighboring countries, these are Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, explained Kon.

He also claims that everything is ready to start school, but that no one has stopped the virus.

“Everything we do, we work to slow down the transmission of the virus and make sure we have a situation with the fewest possible problems for the health system,” Kon said.

He also says that they are waiting for a vaccine and that they are looking at it with great hope.
