As announced by the Defense Ministry, Vulin attended the dress rehearsal of the combined tactical exercise with combat shooting, to be held tomorrow at the temporary field “Peshter”, with the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, General Milan Mojsilovic.
– Today we saw what the Serbian army has been preparing for all these months, but also all these years – said Vulin, adding that Serbia can be proud of these people and sure that peace will reign for a long time as long as it has those people and that army.
He stressed that peace in the Balkans is lasting only when Serbia is strong and when Serbia has such a strong army.
– Today everything went according to plan, all units fulfilled their tasks in the best possible way. We hope that tomorrow will be the same and make Serbia happy tomorrow with the image of a proud, organized, modern and equipped army – he said.
General Mojsilovic said the dress rehearsal featured “complex tactical and operational actions and procedures.”
“I am completely satisfied with what I saw today, considering that the cooperation between the Air Force units and the Army was achieved with great precision in place and time, and the effect of the fire on the targets was impressive,” he said. He added that the Army can now boast of capabilities that so far have not been visible or demonstrated, and as of today, they fully enter the long-term scope not only to the defense system development plan but also at the tactical level, where a kind of cohesion is expressed.
– We are proud of what we have and of what the State has allowed us to do, and I would like to express my gratitude to the Minister of Defense, the Ministry of Defense and the President of the Republic and the Supreme Commander for all that this army has received – He said.
He assessed that these exercises and this way of working send a message and express the determination that our country is safe and secure, and that every dinar invested in the Serbian army is a dinar invested in the safety of our citizens. Some 2,800 members of the Serbian Army and Ministry of Defense, more than 150 combat and non-combat vehicles and systems, and around 40 aircraft will participate in the joint tactical exercise “Cooperation 2020” on Saturday at 12 noon.
These include a large number of modernized funds and defense industry development funds, which will act together for the first time in one of those exercises.
A part of the capabilities of the Serbian Army, Air Force and Air Defense units will be shown with a combat group from the Land Army and the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and the 63rd Parachute Brigade.
As announced, according to the number of units engaged, this is one of the largest exercises, taking into account the recruitment of new funds with which the Serbian army was equipped in the previous period.
