Tonight, Finance Minister Siniša Mali is a guest on HitTweet on Pink TV. Tatjana Macura and Ivica Dačić are also invited to the show. The Minister talks about all the current issues that he marked this week.

The first proposal of the program concerns the exclusive findings obtained by Večernje novosti, which relate to the Dragan Đilas accounts in Mauritius and Switzerland.

– More than 10 million euros in few accounts. I am very surprised by the statement from the people of Večernji novosti who said it was just the tip of the iceberg. It is money that was taken out of the country while he was in power. That will be the subject of investigations in the next period – said Minister Mali.

The Minister also showed the editions of Večernji novosti in which exclusive documents were published.

– It is important that the citizens of Serbia remember the names of these accounts and their numbers – noted the Minister.

– These documents are now the subject of the competent authorities. As soon as you have a large number of accounts, countries of companies, it indicates tax evasion or money laundering, it indicates that you are hiding something. This is a fund that manages the money of wealthy clients, including Dragan Djilas.

– It is a company that is registered and still operates in the territory of Mauritius. No one has ever said that their money is there and that it is in this institution. This is not the end. He said at a press conference that he had an account in Switzerland. Gojko, Dragan and Paskal Schmidt sign. On the other hand, Novosti published the data they found today, that Pascal Schmidt is being contacted with more than 30 offshore companies in the world. The news announced that Djilas also hides money in Hong Kong companies, the minister stressed.

– This is a huge octopus. About a lot of accounts controlled by Dragan, Gojko and Schmidt, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It is money that was taken out of Serbia while Djilas was in power, the minister said.

He mentioned that just days before this discovery, the president of Serbia warned Djilas not to say he had no accounts.

– Now that everything turned out to be the other way around, you don’t want to go to the polygraph. When you have so much money it is not a problem to have it if you have paid taxes and if you acquired it legally. When he entered politics, he reported assets worth 75 thousand euros, and ended up with 24 million.

He adds that he does not know the purpose of his press conference because he did not respond to questions and will be remembered for the statement “I give my life, but not the statement from the polygraph.”

“Djilas laughs at the citizens of Serbia and at all of us all the time, and does not want to answer journalists’ questions,” Mali explained.

“The only problem here is the origin of the money,” Matsura pointed out.

– The biggest problem is that they acquired this new one while he was in power. It is very important that politicians do not have problems answering journalists’ questions – he pointed out.

The Minister pointed out once again that there are more than 50 accounts of this type in more than 17 countries.

– It is not only a moral question, it is also a crime question, because the money was taken out of the country while Djilas was in power. When asked if you have an account or not, you say you don’t want to answer that question. He does not want to answer a single question – emphasized the Minister.

“It cannot be hidden that he acquired the money while he was in public office,” Matsura emphasized.

– All those who had contact with the state at any time and then reached the point that they are successful entrepreneurs, then it is an opportunity well taken – he said.

– This is a double standard. This is mainly illegal, because our citizens are prohibited from having accounts abroad in foreign banks, except if they have a company – said Dacic.

The Minister also commented which laws have been violated in this way.

– There are 3 institutions in whose jurisdiction this case is found. Personal Income Tax Law, Article 7, Capital gains tax, Dividend tax, for which the question is whether Dragan Djilas reported it or not. As a resident of this country, he is someone who spends more than 190 days in our country and is obliged to report it – said the Minister.

– How can they deny something, what can they say? The journalists who came to this have all the information, that cannot be denied. That is why Djilas does not want to respond and threatens lawsuits, but does not want to go to the polygraph.
