An epidemiologist and crisis staff member, Dr. Predrag Kon, was announced as the third person in Serbia to receive the “Pfizer” coronavirus vaccine, yet surgeon Predrag Peshko received the vaccine before him.
According to the official announcement, this morning Prime Minister Ana Brnabic was going to receive the “Pfizer” vaccine, then Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Darija Kisic-Tepavcevic, and then an epidemiologist and member of the Crisis Staff Dr. Predrag Kon.
However, before Predrag Kon, the surgeon Predrag Peško was vaccinated.
Also, those who saw the live broadcast were confused because prof. Dr. Peško appeared after Dr. Kisić-Tepavčević, outside the prescribed protocol, and some did not recognize him at first.
The general public may not be as familiar with this surgeon and academic of ours, but Dr. Peshko is highly regarded among the professional public.
What is known about him, however, is that he has had a successful career as a specialist in general and abdominal surgery since 1986, as well as a long career as a professor at the Belgrade Faculty of Medicine.
Dr. Predrag Peško is a surgeon and full professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade. He became a corresponding member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 2006, and a full member six years later, according to the SANU website.
The description on SANU’s website also indicates that his specialty in the medical field is gastroenterology, cardiothoracic surgery, and endoscopic surgery.
Among the most significant privileges in the career of prof. Dr. Peška stands out as an honorary member of the German surgeon, as indicated on the SANU website, and was elected to the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Predrag Peško can also boast of more than 280 scientific articles that he has published in his career.
Prof. Dr. Peško was born in 1955 in Boka, near Zrenjanin.
