The unpleasant event took place shortly after 2 pm in the Novi Sad settlement in Salajka. There, the UN inspector, who was not on duty, tried to prevent the theft of the car. As we learned, he identified himself and began to search the suspect, then Dimitrije S. took out a knife and stabbed the inspector in the legs and arms, causing serious injuries, causing him to fall to the ground.
While the inspector was lying, the suspect managed to get into the car and escape from there in the direction of Santandrejski’s post, but he landed there from the road, left the car and then, probably on foot, escaped several hundred meters from George Street. Zlicic.

WHILE the persecution of the attacker continued, the police blocked all the entrances and exits of the city and controlled all those who seemed suspicious. The Salajka settlements, as well as Podbara, where the unpleasant event took place, were under heavy police forces.
There, after several hours of searching, he was detained in a house. The suspect was detained for up to 48 hours and will be taken with a criminal report to the chief prosecutor for questioning.
A Novi Sad resident, who crossed Sava Đisalova Street immediately after the inspector was attacked and wounded, says he saw a man lying on the ground and bleeding.
– While passing by the car, I saw that the legs and arm of a man were injured on the ground – said this resident of Novi Sad. – I stopped immediately and called an ambulance. Soon, a woman came out of a house and brought towels to lay the wounded.

The injured inspector was taken to the Emergency Center with multiple wounded in the ambulance, as we were informed at this health institution. As we learn, his health is stable.
