Miljan J. (22) from Donji Dušnik, arrested for the murder of his neighbor Sava Krstić (94), showed no remorse for the cruel crime.
It turns out that the alleged killer even accused the old man of provoking him, for which he beat him to death with his fists.
– He presented his version of events with total coldness. He allegedly drank with Sava at her home on Saturday night. At one point, he recalled serving four months in prison for stealing it. He told the old man that he had galvanized him for theft, so he was imprisoned for it. He claimed that Sava got upset then and started cursing him. He was particularly affected, he said, by the fact that his grandfather cursed his mother, who died when he was little. He did not attack him immediately, but instead, as he described, went to the house to “cool off”, and then decided to return to Sava. Already at the door, he began to beat him, beat him helplessly with his fists, threw him on the bed and continued to beat him mercilessly, say the interlocutors familiar with this case.
– He undressed his grandfather halfway and took the clothes home where he burned them and washed his own. He behaved normally, as if nothing had happened. When he saw the police on Monday, he took a bus to Nis, probably with the intention of hiding there. However, the Nis criminal police, based on the leads and operational information, immediately identified the killer and arrested him very quickly, our sources explain.
Miljan’s defense was questioned by everyone who knew Sava, mainly his daughter Gordana Cvetanović, who said that he was not close to Miljan.
– It’s completely impossible, it’s silly that they drank together. Dad was afraid of him, he would never let him into the house. He was careful because it was constantly being stolen, but he never accused anyone of it. I was with him in court, he said not to accuse anyone – said the grieving daughter.
