The film about a girl trying to survive in the infamous Ustasha camp – called “Dara iz Jasenovac” – is a candidate of Serbian cinematography for the Oscar 2021 in the competition for the best foreign films.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia provided political and, more importantly, financial support of around three million euros for the recording, which was announced a year ago.

Film publicist Veljko Krulcic recently predicted for the first time on social media that Serbia would run for “Daru iz Jasenovac”, and in his opinion, it will not be a surprise if he enters the last nine films.
