Milos Mijailovic and his sister Biljana, for the treatment of little Anika Manic, who is fighting the toughest battle for her life, offered for sale their birth house, which is located in the center of Rudnik. Since then, their phones have not stopped ringing and interested people are calling from all sides.
“We were called by a man originally from Bosnia, who went to the United States during the war and worked there for years and offered eight thousand dollars for a house. He said he had a wish, when everything went through that house later, and rewrite it in Anika’s name. The idea of putting the house up for auction was my sister’s and I immediately accepted it. We spent our childhood there and have good memories, but we will still prefer to give it away in this way, than to use it in any other way, ”says Miloš for RINA.
The house is about 90 square meters, it is in a solid state, although certain investments are still needed from future owners. It is registered in the cadastre and Miloš and his sister are the only owners.
“Whoever offers the most money, which is the objective of this auction, when he pays it to the account for Anika’s treatment, he should only come to us with that proof of payment, and it is up to us to transfer the property to him.” There are no major complications, nor will my sister and I come into contact with the money. Whoever pays for the treatment gets a house. The auction lasts until midnight on November 18, and by then, whoever offers the most will become the new owner, ”said this young human.
Milosevic’s cousin, Ivan Jakovljevic, proves that the people of Rudnica are really big hearts, putting an electric scooter, won in the prize game, in the auction for Anika’s treatment, and the one who pays the most money in the Anika’s account becomes the owner of this modern vehicle.
His kids were looking forward to this scooter, but he explained very easily to them that someone’s health is much more important than play.
“They and my wife agreed with me. We are very sad because the girl is sick and it is so difficult to collect money.” We wanted to give our small contribution in this way, to help in her treatment, “said Ivan.
Anika was born two years ago as a healthy and strong baby, but it was soon established that she suffered from spinal muscular atrophy, the most serious form.
This disease is said to be the leading cause of genetic death in children. It is a rare neuromuscular disease that is fatal and is lived without therapy for up to two years.
The disease begins with weak muscles in the legs and arms, but then weak muscles for breathing, swallowing, coughing, and children die from suffocation or pneumonia. For Anika to survive, it is necessary to receive a medicine that costs more than two million euros.
