The director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, says it is a “real little miracle” that Serbia has managed to remove political issues from the talks in Washington.

It is also a miracle that Serbia has managed to persuade Pristina to become a member of the “mini Schengen”, but also to agree to more than three billion euros in infrastructure investments to connect with the southern province.
Đurić added that the arrival of the US Development Agency (DFC) is also important.
He also recalled on TV Pink that “Pristina is prohibited from applying for membership in international organizations for one year, and there is no obligation to become a member after that.”
Đurić also recalled that Albanians announced that they would go to Washington for mutual recognition, stating that they based their policy on the story that Serbia would be forced to recognize Kosovo’s independence, and said that some national politicians also affirmed the same.
They said, Đurić adds, that Vučić “would betray Kosovo.”
“Of course, none of that happened. Serbia was initially faced with a difficult and dramatic demand for us to accept independence. Some services warned us about that, but I can proudly say that Vučić said that a serious state should not be dealt with. he can talk like that and he won’t accept it regardless of the consequences both in a personal and political sense, ”Đurić said.
Đurić believes that the Americans would not have waived that request were it not for such a clear and resolute position.
“Then we entered the battle on other points. They didn’t even have to negotiate with the Albanians, they settled things with them right in front of us,” Đurić said.
