While the introduction of the PCR test is becoming safer for everyone entering the country, many still wait for them to go somewhere to receive them. According to Dr. Predrag Kon, the measures now in force cannot be expected to be abolished.

– There should be some restrictions to avoid a catastrophe after the holidays. It remains to be seen whether it will be a ban on meetings or limited operation of the facilities. Certainly holidays are a risky period and something must be done, says Dr. Kon for “mondo”.

Kon said that if the citizens do not apply the prescribed measures now and do not understand the situation, then the state should shut down everything.

– To introduce a curfew, you must first declare a state of emergency. Everything else is unconstitutional. I am in favor of strict measures, but I am not the only one wondering, the decision that the crisis headquarters will make jointly will be crucial – says Dr. Predrag Kon.

According to the statements of the crisis staff members, it is most likely that foreign citizens, but also our diaspora who come to Serbia during the holidays, will need to have proof that they are kovid-19 negative in order to enter the country.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić also said that the introduction of PCR is one of the measures currently being considered for them, recalling that the measures that need to be taken to keep the situation under control are being measured every day. Doctors warn that the arrival of large numbers of citizens in Serbia would carry the risk of contagion during their stay here, which would put additional pressure on our health system and would reignite the epidemic.

In no way allow the New Year celebration

The epidemiologist Ivana Prokić believes that the celebration of the New Year should not be allowed and that the solution may be the introduction of the curfew.

– I think the only measure left is to make a curfew for that night. So from six o’clock in the evening until morning, it will eventually repeat itself for the repeat, because then people will go out a day later – he said.

For the holidays at home

Srdja Jankovic, a member of the crisis staff, said that despite the measures introduced, no improvement in the epidemiological situation is expected until the New Year, so the celebration of the welcome would be justified.

– No one can be blamed a priori for taking over their business, but for me as a doctor, it is appropriate to celebrate the holidays with my family. I mean, under the same roof, people from the same household, not relatives – he said.
