On October 3, 2020, at the Rudnica administrative checkpoint, customs officials prevented the smuggling of 16 new mobile phones and equipment estimated to be worth nearly 500,000 dinars.
The case was discovered at night, during regular vehicle checks at the Rudnica checkpoint. That is, around 7 pm, an Opel Insignia with Novi Pazar plates, driven by a Serbian citizen of Novi Pazar, arrived from the direction of AP KiM.
The passenger said he had nothing to report, but during the inspection of the car it was determined that he tried to smuggle 16 well-known mobile phones, mobile phone equipment, as well as a television router.
The passenger placed 14 mobile phones in their original packaging on the passenger seat and covered them with a jacket, thinking that that way he could camouflage the smuggling attempt.
However, after a detailed inspection of the vehicle, customs officials found not only those phones, but also two that were inserted into the door partitions without boxes.
All phones and equipment discovered, which, according to the passenger, were intended to be sold over the Internet, were temporarily detained until the end of the misdemeanor proceedings.
