At the Sabac Gerontology Center, 79 users were infected with the crown, “Blic” learned. Three users were hospitalized, while the others had mild or no symptoms.

In this Gerontology Center, users were vaccinated against corona on the last day of 2020, so that is probably the reason why there is no more for a severe clinical picture.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Darija Kisić Tepavčević, told “Blic” that the infection of users has nothing to do with vaccination, but only followed vaccination and is directly related to the unvaccinated reservoirs of the infection transmitted by the virus in the immediate aftermath. after immunization.

She says 157 out of a total of 209 users were vaccinated at Sabac’s Gerontology Center on Dec. 31, while the employees have yet to receive the vaccinations.

– Two female employees, a waitress and a social worker, had a fever on January 7, and test results that arrived the same day showed they were positive for the crown. Extraordinary supervision was in charge of the Institute of Public Health. Out of 153 users, 135 underwent antigen testing and 18 underwent PCR, says Kisić Tepavčević.

Of the 135 who underwent the antigen test, 65 tested positive, while of the 18 users who underwent PCR, 14 tested positive.

– Out of a total of 79 positive users, three were hospitalized and are on oxygen therapy, 18 have a fever and the rest have no symptoms, says Kisić Tepavčević.

He says that this situation has shown how important it is to vaccinate users and employees in gerontological centers, since due to their age and associated diseases, they are at greater risk of presenting the most serious clinical manifestations.

– Although two doses are needed, we assume that users have already built a certain degree of immunity, so thanks to that, most of them have developed mild or no symptoms. That is exactly the reason why users of gerontological centers were our priority in vaccines – concludes Darija Kisić Tepavčević.
