In the coming days, the Serbian National Association of Tourism Agencies (JUTA) will try to pressure the Greek embassy and speak with the corresponding ministry so that tourist workers can go to Greece with a PCR test and talk with partners about how to solve the troubles of Serbian citizens and missed trips. .

The director of the National Association, Aleksandar Senicic, tells Tanjug that the goal is to get vouchers that will be a guarantee that the Greeks got the money and that the citizens will get the money they paid.

He added that the agencies receive money from tourists like every year. By March 15, between 140 and 150 million euros had been paid across Europe, and 90 percent of the arrangement had not materialized, while most of the money, 90 million euros in advance for this year, was destined for Greece.

“We transferred the money to the partners, and almost nothing was done, we have fears, the Greeks remember more and more that they will return the funds only in 2022, without the obligation to make the paid arrangements next year,” said Senicic. Greek partners and talk.

Senicic estimated that we probably need talks at the state level to solve the problem, because it is the money of citizens that agencies pay their partners.

He added that no one can force Greeks to cooperate with Serbian travel agencies if they have another plan.

Senicic adds that there is another problem in the whole story, which concerns what will happen if one of the partners, among other things, fails or decides to sell the hotel.

“We have to talk to the corresponding ministry and the new government, and we have to find a model for all countries, how to solve the problem of having a promise that we can work under any conditions, at least with the PCR test,” he said. Senicic.

Senicic added that there is no progress regarding the trip to Greece and that he hopes it will be heard officially tomorrow.

“They have been behaving like this all year and I don’t think anything will change tomorrow on the issue of opening the borders,” Senicic said.

Remember that Greece approved a regulation that allowed service providers, hoteliers and owners of private homes “not to have to return the money we paid, so they can return it at the beginning of 2022.”
