Maintaining a physical distance of 1.5 meters between students when arriving at school, mandatory masks and disinfection at the entrance, a minimum distance of five steps even on the steps of the school, but also one student in each class are just some of the news that students look forward to at the beginning of the new school year on September 1st.
We know the order
Due to the special circumstances in which schools across Serbia will be out this year due to the coronavirus epidemic, the “Lazar Savatić” primary school in Belgrade made an educational video on the rules of conduct, which it shared with all students, parents and employees.
According to previous instructions from the Ministry of Education, classes will last 30 minutes, a short break will be used to replenish supplies, notebooks and pens, as well as to go to the bathroom, while during long breaks and between shifts they will be ventilated classrooms and rooms will be cleaned and disinfected.
– When you come to school, you must maintain the prescribed distance of 1.5 meters, there will be opportunities to hug and greet your friends, but now you must keep the distance between them. When entering the school, it is everyone’s obligation to put on masks, disinfect our hands, and walk through the barrier with both feet – as indicated in the instructional video.
Minimum retention
The school insists that students need to stay in the school hallway to a minimum, as well as that a mandatory distance of at least five steps must be maintained on the stairs. If students adhere to the handrail, they should immediately disinfect their hands, and upon entering the classroom, the masks are removed only when the students sit in their seats on the benches.
– When going to the bathroom, you should put on masks and take care of the occupation, because there can be as many students in the bathroom as there are cabins. A student is sitting alone behind a bench, and physical education classes will be held outside, whenever possible, respecting a safe distance, says Lazar Savatić Elementary School in a video tutorial with the rules of conduct at school during the 2020/21 school year. years.

MLADEN ŠARČEVIĆ
It is possible to postpone the start of classes in Kosovo and Metohija
Education Minister Mladen Šarčević claimed yesterday that 96.3 percent of the founders’ parents stated that they wanted to teach live, and not online, and that postponement of the start of school would only be possible in the territory from Kosovo and Metohija:
– The situation in the enclaves of Kosovo and Metohija is not the best for us, because measures are not implemented there as in central Serbia. We will probably move in in a week or two. Pristina authorities have decided to postpone the start of the school year, but our students will have classes online.
ADVICE FROM A PSYCHOLOGIST
Make the masks interesting
Child psychologist and psychotherapist Snezana Andjelic explained that students, and especially first graders, must know the obligation to wear masks through play and present the mask as interesting.
– Let the mask interesting, not a medical classic, but even with felt-tip pens, paints, sequins, it can become an attraction, not a burden on children, and parents should not be exposed to spending. The attitude of the parents is crucial, if they have resistance to that, and if there is a threat “put that mask on, don’t take it off”, the children will experience it as a catastrophe – he told the agencies.
