BELGRADE – I have always dreamed of a great wedding and wanted to immortalize that moment with family and friends. Let’s rejoice and rejoice all together with a smile on our face, and not with masks – says fromurđa from Belgrade, who has already canceled her wedding twice due to the coronary virus pandemic and the measures that have been in place for a year. Can you make your idea come true this year?
According to him, the wedding was long and painstakingly planned for 400 guests, and was scheduled for April, and even the invitations came the day after the ban was introduced!
– The hardest thing for me was when I heard that the decision takes effect less than a month before our wedding! I refused to believe that the great effort not only from me and my future husband, but also from the people who participated in the organization of the dream wedding according to our idea, was in vain, says the future bride to the newspaper.
Although he had to cancel his wedding a second time when the authorities briefly allowed and then again banned the celebrations in July, he tells us that he is not giving up on his idea and hopes with optimism that it will finally happen this year, when he will marry the chosen one according to the true Serbian custom.
Đurđa hopes that this year he will manage to make a real Serbian wedding: is it realistic? Is it realistic to think of weddings this summer, but also summer vacations?
Epidemiologist and crisis staff member Dr. Branislav Tiodorović tells Blic the following: “If the measures are met until the end of spring, and vaccination is carried out in the same period for at least two million inhabitants, then yes, it is possible. ” The owners of the facilities for the celebrations are also optimistic, as are the organizers, who ensure that after the start of the vaccination, interest in the celebrations has started again.
– Most of our reservations are from last year, but with the advent of vaccination, the interests of other newlyweds who would like to celebrate their wedding with music and in the spirit of tradition – said the owner of a famous restaurant in Belgrade.
He also states that while everything is uncertain, reservations have been made since May, and most in the fall. As he himself says, until then, there is a realistic expectation that the epidemiological situation will change, although he affirms that if there is no change in the ban, the wedding will be postponed until further notice, and the newlyweds know it.
It should be remembered that the measure prohibiting the gathering of more than five people is still in force in Serbia, and furthermore, food services are not allowed to operate for more than 20 hours. Although the economic part of the Crisis Staff has been insisting for weeks that this work schedule be extended to 22 hours, the medical part is persistent and determined in the position that no concessions have yet to come.
It has been in place for almost a year that larger meetings should not be organized. Weddings, christenings, birthdays and similar celebrations were stopped shortly after the outbreak of the kovid pandemic in order to prevent the spread of security reasons to prevent the spread of this virus.
