There is no talk of commitment, necessary measures as for the weekend

The epidemiologist Predrag Kon told RTS that the only measures that could break the chain of transmission of the virus are the measures that were in force during the weekend, and that is that only food, pharmacies and gas stations are open.

After the doctor’s meeting with Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, Predrag Kon stated that the most important thing is to say that the medical part of the crisis personnel simply cannot deviate from their positions, and that is that the chain of transmission of the virus must be broken .

“The only measurements that we can provide are the measurements that we had over the weekend, and that is the only thing that is open and allowed – food, pharmacies and fuel. “Everything else should be closed,” Kon told RTS.

According to the opinion of some of the medical part of the Crisis Staff, as stated, a minimum of 14 days is needed to ensure that this virus activity calms down in this interruption of the transmission chain.

“There is no doubt that the numbers will continue to increase, the pressure on hospitals is increasing and we must stop it as soon as possible. The only efficiency is provided by sudden measures, perhaps seemingly drastic,” emphasizes Kon.

Asked what is the commitment for the medical part of the Crisis Staff, he said that unfortunately he cannot speak of a commitment, because they do not see any alternative to those measures, except that some cosmetic repairs can be considered.

Kon also addressed the situation in schools, saying that it is clear that there is a decrease in the number of new cases registered, which is three times less among high school students than before.

“No self-isolation for fully vaccinated”

When asked what the measures are when it comes to self-isolation, since there are changes, Kon said that someone who has been fully vaccinated does not have to go into self-isolation, even if at least two weeks have passed since the second dose.

“Fully vaccinated, with two doses, who have been in contact with the patient, they do not have to go in isolation. The proof is that vaccination. The same is true for returnees from abroad, “emphasized Kon.

Radovanović: Block everything for two weeks, but not people

Epidemiologist Zoran Radovanovic agrees that it is necessary to work only in food stores.

“As far as the measure is concerned, this situation now corresponds to the most severe, so it is absolutely necessary to apply the measures for at least two weeks, but not the lock. “People should go out,” epidemiologist Dr. Zoran Radovanovic told Nova s.

When asked what he thinks about crisis staff member Predrag Kon’s proposal that Serbia should be locked up again for two weeks after exactly one year, Radovanović says:

“We, from the United Doctors Association Against Covids, are constantly blowing our necks. We have been telling them since September that it is necessary to take action. The third wave was expected, they did nothing, then on October 11, we gave a list of measures in phases. It is about fifteen very detailed measures for funerals, weddings, etc. This situation now corresponds to the stricter phase, so it is absolutely necessary to apply measures for at least two weeks, but not this confinement “, said Radovanović and I add:

“It was done a year ago, it is even inhumane and in countries where radical measures are taken, people are let out. You have to go out, run around the house if you want. Only food stores should remain open, not even cultural events. If you don’t allow gatherings, you don’t need to have people in the house. “For example, we predicted that two adults with children under 12 would go to the park for a walk,” reports Nova.rs.
