The director of the National Employment Service (NESS), Zoran Martinović, said that there are currently 534,000 registered unemployed, and that there has been a slight increase in their number since the beginning of the year, of 3.9 percent year-on-year. base year.

He evaluated as a guest on TV Prva that the increase was not unexpected, considering that many expect the payment of incentives for the unemployed that the state announced, due to the measures to support the economy that are no longer valid.

“These numbers are not as great as we expected due to all the incentives that have been announced at this time.” The unemployment rate remained below ten percent, according to the projections of the Government of Serbia. “Now we expect another law (on measures to help the unemployed) in the coming week,” Martinović said.

He also said that all future payments will be organized by the National Service through the Postal Savings Bank based on their records, and that the recipients will not be exposed to additional costs.

The director of the NESS said that there are currently 13 public calls for incentives and subsidies for entrepreneurs and the self-employed, with a total value of 5.7 billion dinars.
