In Rasina district, the corona virus has been confirmed in more than 240 people since the beginning of November.
An emergency situation has been introduced in the municipalities of Trstenik and Aleksandrovac.
Vesna Stević Gajić, director of the Kruševac General Hospital, said that currently 60 patients are hospitalized at that institution.
According to her, these patients have a moderate to severe clinical picture, eight of whom are in serious condition and are on mechanical ventilation.
The doctor stated that the Kruševac hospital received six respirators on Friday and that they were put into operation immediately. In addition, he says, the supply of oxygen to the Infectious Diseases Clinic has been completed, so that patients receive oxygen therapy.
He pointed out that the third wave of the coronavirus is much more severe than the second, and that the patients being treated are over 60 years old.
