The investigation by the Spanish police, in which a 30-member Balkan gang “fell” led by a Serbian woman (37), began two months ago, in July, practically by accident.

The reason for the investigation was the fire in Olivela’s house in Barcelona. The cause of the fire was illegal electrical installations that, it was discovered, supplied the marijuana plantation. Then the ball began to unravel.

Police soon determined that the house, like the others on the outskirts of Barcelona, was rented by a Serbian mother with her partner. In the rented houses, it turns out that the Serbian woman made a whole network of laboratories (or plantations) in which she grew marijuana.

Is the Albanian Mafia the strongest in the world today?

– The Civil Guard then began an investigation, during which it carried out a total of 19 searches in municipalities of Barcelona. Up to 12 closed marijuana plantations were dismantled, 12,600 plants were seized, 190 kilograms of processed buds and 50,000 euros in cash. No firearms were found in any of the actions, the Civil Guard said.

The “workers” of the plantations mentioned were mostly our citizens.

– The plantation custody work was carried out by citizens of Serbia who were “hired” by the arrested woman – she paid them for the trip to Spain and gave them a fixed “salary” for the work. From time to time, he would bring in new workers and send old ones to Serbia so as not to arouse suspicion, the Spanish media write.

Passports from EU countries suspected of forgery were also found among the detained members of the criminal group.

– We are investigating why they had false Croatian and Slovenian passports. It is possible that they made it easier for them to move in Spain and the European Union, since Serbia is not a member of the EU, but it is also possible that they simply hid their true identity with these documents because there was a court order for them – explains the police

It is also claimed that the Serbian police cooperated during the investigation, especially since certain suspects are being searched due to various acts and proceedings against them in Serbia.

We remind you that a week ago, the Spanish police carried out a major operation in Barcelona and Tarragona, which dismantled an international criminal organization that was engaged in the marijuana trade. According to the Spanish media, a Serbian woman (37), who was arrested in this action, was arrested with a newborn baby.
