The former priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Zoran Maksimović (59), who was arrested on suspicion of kissing and later persecuting a minor from Kaludjerica for three years, is threatened with 15 years in prison.
The lascivious priest is suspected of two criminal offenses: adultery for abuse of power and persecution, and according to the Penal Code, only the first criminal offense can be sentenced to 12 years in prison, and how the girl, who at that time was only 15 years, she became pregnant, her sentence can be up to 15 years in prison.
Furthermore, for the crime of persecution, Maksimović is threatened with a maximum sentence of three years behind bars.
“The teacher, educator, tutor, adoptive parent, parent, stepfather, stepmother or other person who, abusing his position or authority, commits adultery or an act comparable to this with a minor who is entrusted to him for teaching, raising, caring or nursing, will be punished with the penalty of deprivation of liberty If the act mentioned in paragraph 2 of this article was committed against a child, the perpetrator will be punished with a prison sentence of five to 12. If the act mentioned in paragraphs 1 to 3 of this article resulted in pregnancy, the author will be punished for the act referred to in paragraph 1 with imprisonment from six months to five years, for the fact referred to in paragraph 2 with a prison sentence of two to twelve years, and for the act referred to in paragraph 3 with a prison sentence of five to fifteen years “, is established in the Penal Code.
As exclusively announced by “Blic”, the dismissed priest from the church of “St. Joachim and Anna”, Zoran Maksimović, was handcuffed for several days, but the beginning of this, to put it mildly, dates back several years. He took notice of his victim, then a fifteen-year-old girl, when she started coming to him in 2017 to confess.
As we discovered, the priest Zoran Maksimović approached the girl when she came to him for confession. For two years, we learned, he persistently tried to establish an emotional sexual relationship with her through manipulations, but failed. However, during the service and tour of the parish in 2019, the prodigal priest arrived at the house where the girl lives. Unfortunately, at that time, the minor was alone at home and the lascivious priest took advantage of the situation and initiated sexual relations with the minor, who later deflowered.
He and the child continued their relationship and she became pregnant within a few months. After she terminated the pregnancy, the priest continued to persecute and harass her. In March 2020, her operation reached such proportions that it physically assaulted and injured her.
At yesterday’s hearing with the prosecutor, Maksimović defended himself by keeping silence, and two criminal charges were brought against him: adultery for abuse of his position and persecution.
The people of Kaludjerica don’t have a single nice word about him
– It’s from the city center, it’s somewhere near Tasmajdan. I don’t know why, but as far as we’ve heard, he received our parish as punishment and he wasn’t very satisfied with it. He was able to complain that his neighbors did not give him enough money to consecrate the water, and there are many who live modestly here. Imagine that priest who can ask you for money without a hint of shame, and not once! – A local told “Blic”, adding that he was not surprised that he was fired from the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Some locals also pointed out that it was a “public secret” that the two were in some kind of relationship. It is not yet known who eventually reported the lascivious priest to the police.

One woman, who asked us not to reveal her identity, said it was known in the neighborhood that he was “more open” to women.
