Another 18 people in Valjevo have been infected with the corona virus in the last 24 hours, and the local Institute of Public Health explains that travel and celebrations are the cause of the October increase in positives in the town of Kolubara.
At the Valjevo hospital with a confirmed positive result for the corona virus, eight patients from Valjevo and one from Lajkovac, 68 from Valjevo, four from Lajkovac and three from Mionica are being treated in home isolation. According to the report of the Institute of Public Health, among those infected are a person who stayed in Montenegro, three employees in a commercial facility and a family contact. After testing other employees, at the request of the employer, three more positives were discovered, of which one person is an asymptomatic carrier of the virus and two had problems before, but were not evaluated.
– The sharp increase in the number of patients in the second week of October is related to the cluster of patients at a private celebration, where there were around 60 guests, organized in an establishment under health supervision in the vicinity of Valjevo. So far, the infection has been verified in several people who participated or their contacts, 10 people from Valjevo, one from Mionica and five relatives of close relatives from Lajkovac. The disease has been registered in members of several families, of unknown origin. In two families, the members of the patients are people employed in health care, announces the Institute of Public Health.
The report also indicates that three members of a family who stayed abroad became infected, four members of the other family were infected by contact with a proven source of infection: a relative from Belgrade, while the illness of five members of a Valjevo’s family was related to the stay in a restaurant. .
By the way, the total number of infected people in Kolubara district is 1,755 people; in Valjevo 1264 in Mionica 118, in Uba 111, in Lajkovac 106, followed by Ljig 86 and Osecina 70 people suffering from coronavirus. Due to the threatening epidemiological situation, an emergency situation has been in effect in Valjevo since July 7.
