Miladin Kovačević, a former basketball player, brutally beat his girlfriend Tina T. (26) in an apartment in Belgrade, then fled and a search was announced for him, Kurir learned.

It should be remembered that Kovacevic became known to the public in 2008 due to the brutal beating of the American student Brian Steinhauer. In other words, the Serbian state paid $ 900,000 to the family of the beaten young man in the name of compensation, and Kovacevic was sentenced to two years and three months in prison in Serbia.

The violent Kovacevic is now, 12 years later, again under the influence of the law due to the beating of the girl.

“Tina T. reported to the police on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, around three in the afternoon, that her acquaintance physically assaulted her in the apartment. She said that he took her mobile phone and her wallet with documents, which scared her a lot “, he relates. our source and continues:

“After Kovacevic beat the girl and took the phone from her so she couldn’t ask for help, she somehow managed to get rid of it and run away with her sister. She told her about the type of torture she experienced and immediately sought help from the authorities”.

The source further says that the police reacted quickly and immediately called Kovacevic to go to the police station and make a statement, but that he did not do that.

“It is obvious that he escaped and is hiding somewhere. A search for him has been announced,” explains a source in Kurir.

It should be recalled that Kovacevic was sentenced in 2010 to two years and three months in prison for brutally beating a colleague from the faculty, Brian Steinhauer, in the United States in May 2008, at a student club in Boston, who suffered injuries that they threatened his life.

Kovacevic spent two months in detention in Belgrade, included in his sentence, and one month in the United States. He was released in Sombor at the end of November 2012, a few days before his full sentence expired, following the application of the Amnesty Law.

After beating the young American, Kovacevic fled to Serbia with the help of the Serbian consulate in New York, and the state of Serbia set aside up to $ 900,000 from the budget for his freedom.

In November 2017, Miladin again drew attention to his violent behavior.

He first spit at the basketball game in Smederevo, then knocked down and kicked the opposing player Darko Rnić. The incident followed the end of a passionate match between Meridian, for which Kovacevic played, and Smederevo, whose basketball player was Darko Rnic. The major incident was avoided by the players of both teams, who separated them.

Kovacevic and several of his teammates remained crazed even after the match, furious at the loss, breaking taps, a hair dryer, hand dryers and everything they liked in the SC Smederevo hallway changing room.
