THE TECHNICAL GOVERNMENT STILL ADAPTS TO THE CHURCH FOR THE NGO OF MIRAŠ: Archpriest-staurophore Velibor Džomić warns of an infernal plan

On October 15, 2020, the government that operates in the technical mandate, without holding a session, gave its consent to the Capital to alienate almost two thousand square meters of land that was a church. In the midst of the epidemic and the catastrophic health situation, instead of taking care of the health of citizens and investing all its efforts in the construction of the defunct Podgorica municipal hospital, the city government insists on inexplicably sowing divisions and encouraging conflicts. religious for religious reasons. Even more absurd is that such a decision is made by the outgoing government with the signature of the Prime Minister who became a deputy, after everything that happened during the previous year. The decision is illegal and we will use all legal means to overturn it, said Archpriest-Staurophore Velibor Džomić, an elder of the Church of St. George under Gorica and deputy archbishop of Podgorica-Kolasin.

It states that within the scope of the Detailed Urban Plan of Nova Varoš 2, only one religious building is recorded: the Church of St. George.

– And in Konik, where a detailed plan calls for the construction of a religious building, the Capital City tried, without success, to rent that land to private owners for a car wash!?! The intention is clear: where a religious building is projected, construction is not allowed and confiscated property is donated to the Church, where no religious building is projected. I especially emphasize that this is a land that, according to available public documents of a historical and legal nature, was seized from the Church of St. George after the Second World War, and that is why the intention of the Capital is even more in conflict with morals. and justice. I am afraid that there are elements of criminal responsibility in such actions. We will form a legal team that will deal with this issue to protect the rights of our Church, says Džomić.

– I am informing the public that Mayor Ivan Vukovic, like his predecessors Stijepovic, did nothing to fulfill the obligations of the capital towards the metropolitan on the basis of the 2014 agreement for the land in front of the Church of St. George. The first term has expired, they asked for an extension of the second term and it expires in just over half a year. We met, but they did nothing to fulfill their obligations according to the decisions of the Capital Assembly and the notarial agreement. It is unreasonable not to comply with obligations and do something that has nothing to do with justice, morals, legality or the interests of citizens who have clearly expressed their attitude towards those called. the religious policy of the outgoing regime. We do not give the Sanctuary!
