The Energy Efficiency Directorate will be formed no later than June and will have a fund of around 15 million euros at its disposal this year, aimed at increasing the energy efficiency of homes in Serbia, the Minister of Mines and Energy said today, Zorana Mihajlović.
The desire of the ministry is that the future Renewable Energy Law and the amended Energy Efficiency Law be lowered to the level of citizens and households.
“The industry and the economy are not debatable, they will deal with energy efficiency and renewable sources, but households, on the one hand, are not trained and, on the other, they did not have the tools and conditions to be able to deal with efficiency energy, “said the minister in a statement. Tanjug.
Mihajlovic announced changes this year that will allow it.
“The Energy Efficiency Directorate will be formed no later than June this year. We already have the Energy Efficiency Fund within the ministry. All that money goes to the Directorate. Not just money from the budget, but from various international organizations, our partners, “Minister Mihajlović announced.
He emphasized that there will be enough money and that models are already being made on how to use it.
“If someone wants to change their carpentry in an average floor of 60 square meters, which requires about 1,500 euros, 25 percent would come from the non-refundable Energy Efficiency Administration, 25 percent would come from the local self-government unit, and 50 percent of the homes ”, specified the Minister of Energy.
It is one of the models that could help people start insulating their buildings and apartments or change the woodwork, he added.
“I think we will make special regulations, special instructions, we will talk to the local self-government units to see how feasible it is. For now, it is,” Mihajlović said.
He said that the state will make special programs for the population in social danger so that it can also replace carpentry.
“Because today we consume four times more heat or electricity per apartment compared to EU countries. So we really stop producing one power plant a year, because we don’t have well-insulated windows or we have bad doors, or all the building is not well insulated, “emphasized Minister Mihajlović.
The Ministry, he added, made it possible for the housing community, that is, the entire building, to conclude a contract with the Administration and the local self-government units to isolate the building and for the Administration to participate in its financing.
“According to some estimates, the fund can amount to more than 15 million euros. This year it will be so much. We’ll see when it all starts. You know, it’s not about whether people are interested or not. I ‘am sure so, because if you insulate your apartment or your building well, your electricity or heating bills will be much lower than before, ”said the Minister of Energy.
He added that the fund will have as many funds as citizens will be encouraged to use.
“We are already working with schools, kindergartens and some other smaller public institutions, but for us, every home in Serbia is now a priority,” emphasized Mihajlović.
