The state does everything according to the law, migrants are obliged to be in reception centers!

Although state institutions deal with migrants, strictly respecting the laws and ensuring their human rights, the Ministry of the Interior and Minister Aleksandar Vulin were not subjected to the insults of certain non-governmental organizations, which they claim that migrants have restrictions on their movement.

The truth, however, is on the other side: migrants have no restrictions on their movement, but, according to current regulations, they are obliged to be in camps and reception centers.

It is unclear why, in fact, he is hiding behind the attack on Vulin and the MUP.

Thus, on Saturday morning, the police arrested 450 migrants in the municipalities of Vršac and Novi Kneževac, who were outside the camps and reception centers, and that action is completely in accordance with the law, but it is also a Indicator to take care of them in the days of cold and coronavirus epidemic.

– During this epidemic, no migrant should be outside the reception centers, where they are provided with everything they need, including medical care – Vulin said yesterday.

Under control

Police Director Vladimir Rebić says that the Interior Ministry has recognized the issue of irregular migration as one of the strategic priorities and that all measures are being taken to prevent illegal migration.

– We are doing everything possible to prevent the movement of immigrants in Serbia from causing unrest among citizens. So far, there has been no significant threat to citizens. We can say that we keep the situation under control. Some crimes of a patrimonial nature, which certainly annoy citizens, but for the most part all crimes occur between members of migrant populations. In most cases, these are conflicts for religious, national and cultural reasons, Rebić told Pink.

He recalled that a migrant was arrested in Bosnia and Herzegovina for murder, but also that some were involved in human trafficking and smuggling, and the Ministry of the Interior will solve that problem as a priority.

Great influx

The director of the Center for Protection and Assistance to Asylum Seekers, Radoš Đurović, says for Kurir that it should be noted that, as he says, even countries much stronger than us have not stopped intercontinental migration. He points out that it is necessary to resolve their situation and further increase accommodation capacities, because we have a large influx from the south, as well as from the north, from where people are sent back.

– It is clear that there are police efforts, but there is still a sea of problems. Certainly, people should not be on the streets now, to run the risk of getting sick, potentially being victims of violence or fear also for citizens – concludes Đurović.

Serbia is not a country of xenophobia

The Commissioner for Refugees, Vladimir Cucic, says that the migrants found outside the accommodation were in inhumane conditions.

– Our goal is that all these people stay, it is winter. When you see small children, you have to react, get them out, regardless of whether their parents decided to take their child away like that … These are inhumane conditions. Five medical teams examined them. Serbia is not a country of xenophobia and I am glad that the whole state policy is like that – said Cucic on the morning program of TV Pink.
