A 17-year-old MS from Belgrade was sentenced to an intensified supervisory educational measure before the Kotor Court of First Instance for causing a maritime accident on 11 July at sea in Budva. In the accident in Budva Bay, the son of a Serbian businessman collided with a boat on a yacht, killing Maja Šljivančanin and injuring his fiancé Vladimir Stanišić (36).
According to lawyer Begović, the intensified supervisory educational measure will be implemented by the Belgrade Center for Social Work, which will monitor the behavior of minors with MS, the Montenegrin media write.
In addition to the educational measure of the Kotor Court of First Instance judges, Momirka Tešić Marović also imposed a special socially useful work measure on the seventeen-year-old girl.
We remind you that MS is accused of causing a speedboat on the high seas near Budva while negligently driving a speedboat, when it collided with a speedboat containing Sljivancanin and Stanisic. The minor claimed that he did not see the boat in front of him.
In mid-August, the Kotor Court of First Instance accepted a bond of 332,000 euros offered by the MS family to defend themselves against accusations of causing the accident.
According to the expert opinion, the minor caused a maritime accident by not adhering to international standards on the prevention of collisions at sea, as well as article 10 of the Maritime Navigation Safety Law.
