The details of the case that was discovered in the Glogonjski rit settlement in Belgrade are even more shocking than the initial news that the man’s body and numerous traces of blood were found in the apartment as well as that the deceased’s son was eating meat of his father’s body.
As we discovered in this settlement, the inhabitants of Glogonjski rit last saw the deceased a week ago. He went, as they say, to the store. The locals, neighbors and employees of the local store all have a good opinion of him.
– He was a good man. He and his son have lived in this building for the past two or three years. We had no problem with them – says Milorad Kitanovski for “Blic”.
Workers at a local grocery store say they have not seen the deceased man’s son, who has yet to determine whether he was killed or died a natural death, for at least a year.
– I used to bring it to the store, but not since last year. They were both always careless, but the father was a good man, they say.
According to the neighbors of the building where the father and son lived, the unfortunate young man (39) almost never left the apartment and when he did, he only went to the crossroads. Neighbors say he was mentally ill and could not take care of himself …
– We often heard them argue, my father did everything, went to eat, took care of him … they lived hard. I spoke with my father only in passing, my son didn’t even leave the apartment, we rarely saw him, they say.
Neighbors noted that the light in that apartment did not burn for days, and that the window was open even when it was raining and cold outside. They add that an unbearable stench began to spread through the building, so they called the competent services for help.
– I noticed my son only when the police came to break into the apartment – says a neighbor.
According to a “Blic” reporter from the field, the building still spreads an unbearable stench.
Residents of Glogonjski rit say they heard through the media that traces of blood were found in the apartment, as well as that the son is suspected of eating his father’s meat because he had nothing else.
The body of the deceased was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, where the exact cause of death will be determined. At this time it is unknown whether the man was killed or died a natural death.
