The soil in Croatia does not rest and the rescue operation continues between the victims and the Serbs.

According to the first data from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center, an earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck Croatia on 06/16. The earthquake had an epicenter 18 kilometers west of Sisak.

At 06.27, another earthquake was felt, reports Index. Morning newspaper reports that residents of Zagreb, Karlovac, Sisak and even Slovenia are calling and saying they were woken up by an earthquake.

In the devastating earthquake that happened yesterday hit the central part of Croatia – Petrinja, Sisak, Glina, seven people died and dozens were injured.

Among the victims are two Serbs from the village of Majska Poljana, near Glina.

The rescue operation and the search for the victims continue.

Hundreds of people were left homeless. The Sisak sports hall is a reception center for the homeless.

The injured, as well as patients from hospitals in the affected area, will be transferred to hospitals in Zagreb.

After the strongest 6.3 earthquake on the Richter scale, about twenty weaker earthquakes followed.

Due to extensive damage to the electricity grid, some 2,000 citizens of the Sisak area and about 7,000 citizens of the Petrinja area are without electricity.

The operation of the Krško nuclear power plant in Slovenia was halted as a precautionary measure.

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said that nearly € 16 million in aid had been provided.

President Aleksandar Vučić said that Serbia was ready to help Croatia.
