In addition to the municipalities of Trgovište and Bosilegrad, the epidemiological situation in other municipalities in the Pčinja district has become extremely unfavorable due to the sudden increase in the number of new cases of the corona virus, according to the Vranje Public Health Institute.
The sudden jump in the number of patients began two days ago, when out of 132 results, 49 citizens of the Pčinja district tested positive for kovid-19, that is, when the percentage of positivity for that viral infection increased to 37 percent.
According to yesterday’s data, of the 116 samples received, 47 tested positive for the coronavirus, and at this time the percentage of new cases in relation to the number of analyzed is 40 percent.
Of that number, the highest number of newly infected is from Vranje, 26, eight of each were recorded in Presevo and Bujanovac, four in Surdulica and one in Vladicin Han, reports Jugmedia.
The epidemiologist of the Institute in Vranje, Dr. Sladjan Stanković, warns that due to such an unfavorable epidemiological situation in the district, there is a steady increase in the number of hospitalized patients in Kovid hospitals.
Among hospitalized patients, Dr. Stanković adds, the number of those with pneumonia is growing, as well as those receiving oxygen.
“There are so many patients that the Kovid 1 Hospital in Vranje has already filled its capacities,” says Dr. Stanković.
He adds that the current epidemiological situation in the Pčinja district is similar to that of early July.
