These laws will take effect immediately, and not, as usual, the eighth day from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. It was assessed that the changes were made for “specially justified reasons” and that there is no reason for the request to wait.

In today’s session, none of the proposed amendments to the requested changes to the law were accepted.

The amendments to the Local Elections Law will allow the verification of the list of supporting signatures to be carried out not only with the notary public, but also in the municipal and municipal administrations.

10,000 signatures are required for the election of deputies, and the deadlines for submitting lists at both levels are 15 days before the elections.

Parliamentary and local elections in Serbia were officially announced for June 21, but despite this, the opposition requests to postpone them at least for the fall.

The Serbian Assembly also approved the Decision on the change of members and deputies of the Electoral Commission of the Republic, proposed by the Socialist Party of Serbia.

Also today, the Assembly voted the amendments to the Law for the Protection of the Population against Infectious Diseases, and the minimum penalty for non-compliance with the regulations of the competent authorities in the protection of the population was increased from 30,000 to 50,000 dinars.
