The Minister of Mines and Energy, Zorana Mihajlović, said today that there is a great effort by individuals to hide the business of the Transportgas company from the Ministry, since the director of that company Stevan Dukić did not appear today at the meeting at the Government of Serbia. invited.
“I regret that the director of ‘Transportgas’ did not appear at any meeting to which he was invited, because it was an opportunity to clarify many things related to the business of this company,” Mihajlović said in a statement.
Among other things, he added, “Transportgas”, as a subsidiary of “Srbijagas”, did not harmonize its operations with the Public Companies Law, nor did it elect a director in accordance with that law.
“It also means that the director of the company, Stevan Dukić, signs the acts of” Transportgas “, despite the fact that he was not chosen according to the legal procedure, which raises the question of the validity of all the acts that he signed as director, “says Mihajlović.
He says that perhaps Dukić thinks that by not attending the meeting, he will be able to keep his position for a while and avoid answering questions about this company’s business.
“But regardless of the lack of respect shown by the Government and the Ministry, no director of the company is above the state that founded it, not even the director of” Transportgas “, says Mihajlović.
It also warns that the directors of state-owned companies are solely responsible for their work to the Serbian government, and not to those to whom they believe they owe their appointment.
“This is exactly the case here, that the director of” Transportgas “has a ban from the director of” Srbijagas “to appear in meetings in the Government, but then citizens should know that there is a price for their silence and non-response to the calls from the Government and the corresponding ministry. In addition to the salary that he receives as director of ‘Transportgas’, a company that, I remind you, is state-owned, not private, and which is several times higher than the average salary received by hundreds of thousands of workers and female workers employed in Serbia, receives another higher salary of 5,000 euros in another subsidiary of the company ‘Srbijagas’ ”, stated Mihajlović.
It points out that it is the company “Gastrans”, which is the investor for the construction of the section of the “Turkish Stream” gas pipeline through Serbia, and that it was founded by the company “South Stream Serbia”, founded in Switzerland, in the that 51 percent of the capital is owned by the Russian “Gazprom”. and 49 percent of “Srbijagas”.
It notes that “Gastrans” was founded to realize a project of strategic importance, a joint project of Serbia and Russia, the construction of a section of the “Turkish Current” through Serbia, from the border with Bulgaria to the border with Hungary.
“Unfortunately, in that project, certain jobs are lagging behind in relation to the dynamics, and that is precisely in those jobs that are the obligation of ‘Srbijagas'”, adds Mihajlović.
It points out that Serbia does not need directors who work only in their own interest, because they perform work of state importance, and they should be accountable for their work to the Serbian Government and the citizens of Serbia, and not to the people who control them.
“It is disastrous to have a director at the head of a state-owned company who is blackmailed or bought for thousands of euros by director positions and arrangements, as is the case of the director of Transportgas, who protects the private interests of the director of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, instead of working in the interests of the state and citizens, “says Mihajlović.
