The red berets in prison broke their marriages for everything!

Some initially gave up on distance marriage, and some did so years later. Former members of the Special Operations Unit of the Serbian Interior Ministry have been sentenced to a maximum of 40 years in prison for various crimes, and some of them are expected to serve another 20 years. An increasingly long stay within the walls and less and less hope of release resulted in lawsuits for divorce, because the better halves could not wait for them until retirement.

Thus, Nenad Bujošević Rambo (51), godfather of Milorad Ulemek Legija (52), sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder of Ivan Stambolić and the four-time murder of an SPO official on the Ibar road, divorced his wife Sanja (45) in 2016. Rambo has been in solitary confinement for almost 20 years and has an adult son and daughter with Sanja. Sanja stated for our newspaper that she will not visit her ex-husband in the “Zabela” prison in Požarevac, but will speak with him by phone because they have a correct relationship after 20 years of marriage.

– We have two sons of 20 and 21 years old and they are our unbreakable bond. We had no dispute even before the divorce. Simply, the burden of life has taken its toll. We are now a slightly modified compound. Our relationship is much more normal than in some dysfunctional families. We agree with the children, we joke… – Rambo’s ex-wife told us.

Rambo and Sanja got divorced after 20 years of marriage. After that, she entered into a relationship with another man, with whom she had a daughter.

A former JSO member, Branko Bercek (43), from Loznica, who was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the murder of Stambolic and the murder of Vuk Draskovic, also had an amicable divorce. He also divorced in 2011 from his wife, with whom he has a 13-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old son. Bercek has been in prison for 17 and a half years, and since 2007 he has been in Pozarevac de Zabela, where he is visited by his wife, children, parents and sister.

Dušan Maričić Gumar (50), the last JSO commander, sentenced to 40 years for the murder of Stambolić, was one of the first to break the marriage.

– He was initially divorced from his wife, with whom he has an adult daughter. His wife sold their apartment in Novi Sad and bought another. The relationship broke down, because she discovered that at that time he was in a relationship with a handsome tennis player from Novi Sad, who regularly attended all his trials. However, she later left him and got married.

Love room

One of the wives told us that she did not want to go to the “love room”, although she had the right to do so for three hours.

– There will be a guard in front of that room during the stay of the prisoner and his companions. There is a bed, a sink, bedding inside … When I saw all that, I was vomiting. I didn’t care about anything, much less sex. Some of these prisoners also bring prostitutes, so just thinking about it aroused my disgust: he described the intimate room in “Zabela.”

Due to his difficult mental state, he often stays in the Belgrade Special Penitentiary Hospital and is later returned to “Zabela”. He was so devastated mentally that he did not even recognize the relatives who came to visit him. He is visited by his brother, who lives in Požarevac – says the source “Hello!”.

Nenad Ilic Glavonja (46), sentenced to 30 years for the murder of Stambolic and the murder of Draskovic, also divorced his wife Marija, with whom he has a 20-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter.

– We don’t know what exactly was between them. He got divorced after “Saber”, sometime in 2005, while he was in CZ. Even then, he had disagreements with his wife. Now she lives in Belgrade with her children.

At his request, he was transferred from “Zabela” to Padinska Skela prison – adds our interlocutor. Leonid Leo Milivojevic, who is serving a 30-year sentence, also divorced his wife, with whom he was in a relationship with which they have a daughter, at the beginning of his days in detention.

– He’s been mentally unstable since the trial. He was also transferred to Padinska Skela from “Zabela” – says our interlocutor.

Unlike those mentioned, Milorad Ulemek Legija has a stable relationship with his wife Aleksandra Ivanović (46), with whom he has three daughters. They visit him in the Alcatraz prison in Požarevac, and since February, Legija can talk and kiss his wife and children without bulletproof glass.

Zvezdan Jovanovic Zveki (55), sentenced to 40 years in prison for the murder of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, faithfully awaits his wife Oliver Lela Jovanovic (53), with whom he has a son and a daughter, and in January last year he had A grandson.
