Slavisa Kokeza has not yet resigned as FSS chair, although he is expected to do so very soon. The negative image of Serbian football that has come out to the world will undoubtedly have consequences for the national team at the start of qualification for the Qatar World Cup, which will begin on March 24 with a match against Ireland in Belgrade.
Who will inherit Kokeza? Who is the best candidate? Who has the strength, energy and responsibility to take care of Serbian football? These are just some of the questions that the public asks in search of a solution. Certainly, care must be taken as to who will be the new FSS president. What is very important is that the Alliance is financially stable, and that the new first person in that aspect has the necessary peace and tranquility.
And there are not many candidates with the right ones with clean biographies. The public speculates that the most ideal solution would be Nemanja Vidic, a man who raised his voice against the bad situation of Serbian football in November. However, Nemanja Vidic has not clearly determined what he wants, that is, if he is ready to take responsibility. It should be remembered that Nemanja Vidic enrolled in the school to obtain a PRO license in Serbia, but some things did not like, took the documentation and then finished everything in England.
Besides him, names are also mentioned Dragan Dzajic I Zvezdana Terzića. However, for both of them, reaching the position of first man in the FSS is not a priority at the moment. Dragan Dzajic is a man with great football experience and knowledge, but he does not think about sitting in an armchair in Terazije. Zvezdan Terzić is a proven football worker, but he’s attached to the Red Star, with whom he succeeds, and doesn’t want to leave like this.
– Enough of merchants! Serbia needs a strong football name at the head of the Federation. A man that everyone in the world and Europe will know, is heard louder and louder in Serbian football.
Without a doubt, Nemanja Vidic is the best solution. The question, however, is whether he wants to accept a not easy task in Serbia from the family home in Milan and the comfort of England, where he often stays and is a welcome guest. Knowing him as a soccer player and gamer, it is clear to everyone that he never escaped challenges, much less responsibilities. But …
If Slavisa Kokeza does not resign soon, it is very possible that he will be relieved of his duties by majority decision. That is what all football workers say in informal conversations, claiming that their stay at the FSS is unsustainable. Your departure is a matter of time. And then … The FSS Labor Assembly will convene in March, at the beginning of April at the latest, Kurir has learned.
According to the Statute of the FSS, then Vice President Marko Pantelić should call elections at all levels. And then the process begins, where the election of delegates to the Assembly of the FSS would take at least two months, since it begins from the elections in the municipal soccer federations until the conformation of the assemblies of the region. The complicated procedure inherited from the time of communism, whose essence has not changed in previous decades, has only been complemented and made up cosmetically.
The new FSS president would be elected by delegates from the Vojvodina region, Belgrade, eastern and western Serbia, Kosovo and Metohija, Super League and First League clubs, and representatives from the coaching and refereeing organization. It should be added that the current president of the FSS, Slaviša Kokeza, changed the Statute in 2016 in this segment, by introducing that the Association of Football Representatives, the labor community employed in the Federation and the group of sponsors have their representatives in the football parliament. And here we come to the number of 69 Assembly delegates who elect a new president, who has always been a candidate, by simple majority.
What will happen in the end? It will show weeks and months ahead.
