The Government of Serbia has adopted a proposal to change the Constitution in the part dealing with courts and prosecutors and other consequential parts of the highest general legal act.

According to a statement from today’s Government session, with this initiative, the Government and the Ministry of Justice confirmed their firm commitment to implement reform processes and comply with the activities of the revised Action Plan for Chapter 23 in the accession negotiations. to the European Union.
The proposal refers to changes in the provisions of article 4 of the Constitution and the provisions relating to the courts and prosecutors (articles 142 to 165). Consequently, the provisions of article 99 – Jurisdiction of the National Assembly, article 105 – Form of decision making in the National Assembly and article 172 – Election and appointment of the judges of the Constitutional Court are modified.
“Changing the Constitution in the area of justice is a necessary step to further strengthen the rule of law and further harmonize with the acquis and European standards,” the statement said.
The Government of Serbia has adopted an Action Plan for the implementation of the strategy for the development of the public information system for the period 2020-2025, in the period 2020-2022.
The strategy foresees the adoption of two action plans to carry out the planned activities: the first action plan is expected to be adopted for the period from 2020 to 2022 and for the second for the period from 2023 to 2025. Once the period of validity of the first three-year action plan, a report will be prepared on the results of its implementation and the performance of the activities envisaged by the plan.
The Ministry of Culture and Information will manage the implementation of the Action Plan, the implementation of the Media Strategy, as well as the development of a set of new media laws. The objective of the strategy is to improve the public information system that guarantees freedom of expression, freedom of the media, the safety of journalists, media pluralism, a developed media market and a strengthened media profession.
The Government also adopted the Conclusion on the establishment of a temporary project – “For Our Heroes” benefit card for employees, employees and volunteers of the kovid-19 system, who were provided with adequate facilities to pay for goods and services due to the difficult living and working conditions during the pandemic.
The support program “For our heroes” is being implemented in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
