The agencies are like “on needles” for nine days, because the Ministry of Tourism did not revoke their work licenses, but the tour operators cannot organize trips, because they do not have an insurance policy!
After a month of agony, the problem with the insurance policies was finally resolved!
Insurance policies will be extended to travel agencies! The source believes they will be extended for a year, although that only suits the large ones, while for the smaller agencies, a three-month extension would be more appropriate.

However, not all insurers will extend policies. More precisely, so far, six agencies have sold commercial insurance policies to travel agencies, but now the number will be cut in half.
This product will now be offered by only three insurers, tourists need not worry, because the policies that the agencies had at the time they bought the arrangements and received the vouchers for them are still valid!
However, agencies will finally have a choice! That is, in addition to the insurance policy, the agencies may take bank guarantees. This possibility has existed until now, but there was no holder or holder of a bank guarantee. The Ministry of Tourism has reached an agreement with the Association of Banks and the agencies can decide whether they want to buy a policy or give a bank guarantee.
– We are not sure that many agencies can provide a bank guarantee of 400,000 euros, so it is necessary that there is the possibility of a policy – says the source.
The holder of the bank guarantees could be the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, but also professional associations.
Finally, an important piece of information is that the full Rulebook according to which travel agencies work will change soon and will be adjusted to market conditions. Specifically, the amount of the bank guarantee will change, which amounts to $ 25,000 worldwide. However, the collateral holder monitors the agency’s billing, and as the volume of work increases, so does the amount to be deposited.
In the event of the agency’s bankruptcy, the guarantee holder will first return the passengers to the destination, then consolidate the company, make the calculation and distribute the money to all tourists in equal parts.
