The people of Voždovac are afraid of letting their children go out into the streets late at night: “Goods are often exchanged here”

We don’t let the children play in front of the building as soon as the sun goes down, because we are afraid; this is what the upset neighbors of Oslobođenja Boulevard in Voždovac say, where a shooting took place today around 5 pm in which a young man was killed and another was injured.

FL (18) was shot dead and A. Đ. (21) was wounded and transferred to the Military Medical Academy. As we learned, the shooting happened while they were in the car in the parking lot. A young man who succumbed to the injuries received a blow to the head and another to the leg.

After the shooting, the killers fled in a “Skoda Octavia” car. The police immediately launched Operation “Whirlwind” and ordered each car to be stopped and inspected. With lightning, members of the police found and arrested the three suspects.

Banjica residents say they heard two shots, but note that this part of the city has become dangerous in recent years. Expensive cars and unknown types can often be seen here.

– They come here by car at night. They park, stay for five to ten minutes, and then leave. They are there, so I think they distribute drugs. Some even take drugs without hiding. That is why I am afraid to let the children go out at night, I am afraid to let them go to the store at night, explains a man from Voždovac who wished to remain anonymous.

A neighbor who lives nearby says that there are dangerous criminals here, but also young people who have just entered the world of crime.

Drug conflict?

According to the first unofficial information, the conflict in Banjica broke out due to drugs. The assassinated FL was previously known to law enforcement. Wounded A. Đ. He is also known to the police in the past for committing various crimes, such as unauthorized production and distribution of narcotics, preventing an official from performing official duties, violent behavior, and theft.

However, it is suspected that the murder was not planned, but was an impulsive reaction, since everything happened in broad daylight in a parking lot where there are many people, but also considering that the attackers were quickly stopped.

The police are determining all the circumstances, after which it will be known how the shooting occurred.
