– The procedure is very quick and easy, and hoteliers have been opening dedicated dinar subaccounts in the Treasury Administration at their branches since last week. We remind you that you have until Monday, October 19 to open the aforementioned subaccounts. Accordingly, the payment will begin tomorrow and tomorrow the grants for 84 hotels will be paid, amounting to 338.6 million dinars. In the coming days, the rest of the payments will follow, Mali said.

Have you applied for any kind of help this year?
– Grants have been approved for 314 hotel facilities, employing nearly 10,000 people, to support the business in the context of the coronavirus epidemic. From conversations with hoteliers in the city, we realized that this support would mean something to them and that it came at the right time, because otherwise they were thinking of laying off employees and closing the hotel. With this support, most of them will be able to complete the business year and partially cover their costs, Mali said.
According to him, the maintenance costs of hotels in cities are high, especially in the context of a huge loss of income due to the small percentage of occupancy of accommodation capacities, which ranged below ten percent during key months. of the summer.

– We did not want to leave this driving force of the sector in the lurch. City hotels have always boosted the tourism industry, and city tourism had a large share in our tourism revenue, which in 2019 exceeded € 1.4 billion, Mali said.
He noted that the decision to help hotels in the city was well thought out and focused, and that he hoped it would have its effects in the future.
The minister also referred to the economic results achieved by Serbia and highlighted that the economic package to support the economy, valued at 5.8 billion euros, which represents 12.5 percent of our GDP, showed its justification and is responsible for such a good panorama that our economy gives us. .
– It has now been shown that the countries that were the most restrictive and thrifty when it came to helping the economy are registering more modest results. Unemployment has increased and they have recorded a drop in consumption. As far as we are concerned, not only were there no major layoffs, but our results in the economy are above expectations, we have growth in industrial production and we do not have a big drop in billing and consumption. Everything is moving towards the fact that we will be in the group of the best economies in Europe, that is, those that have fought the crisis of the crown in the economic sense in the best way – said Mali.
He also specified that other parameters are encouraging, such as the entry of investments of 1,800 million euros or the growth of building licenses issued in September, which is 10% higher than the same month last year. Mali concludes that we still have to see what the economic situation will be like at the end of the year, but also that the information they received from other sectors, such as construction, is a good sign.
