The state of health of the metropolitan Chrysostom of Dabro-Bosnia (Jevic), president of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, is stable: there is no temperature or any inflammatory process and in the next few days he must leave the hospital of the Hospital Center Clinic “Doctor Dragisa Misovic” in Belgrade. was placed on December 4 due to a positive test for the kovid 19 virus.

After leaving the hospital, he will have to spend time in self-isolation, until he returns to his usual duties, our newspaper officially reported today at the headquarters of the Metropolitanate de Dabro-Bosnia in Sarajevo.

Although until the election of the new patriarch, Metropolitan Chrysostom is at the head of the Church, in the Belgrade Patriarchate, the Information Service and the spokesman and member of the Synod of the SOC Bishop of Bačka Irinej (Bulović) could not obtain a statement official on the state of health of the church president. government “.

Our newspaper also asked the Bishop of Bačka for official information on whether another “synod”, the Bishop of Kruševac, David (Perović), left the Kovid hospital in Dedinje, where he was treated for the corona virus for the second time after the funeral of the patriarch. Irinej, as well as an explanation. as does the Synod in the new circumstances.

We did not receive any responses, including an explanation as to whether Metropolitan Chrysostom, as president of the Synod, is at the same time the guardian of the vacant patriarchal throne, the vicar, which was not clear in the synod announcement after Patriarch Irinej’s death.

Danas sources unofficially affirm that the “combinatorial” that the Metropolitan of Zagreb-Ljubljana Porfirije (Perić), as deputy of the previous convocation of the Synod and the oldest metropolitan of Parliament, assumed the position of caretaker, did not pass then.

Apparently a “compromise” prevailed: the Synod, in accordance with the SOC Constitution, assumed the “power of the patriarch” and appointed its active member, Metropolitan Chrysostom, as president, without officially mentioning the vicar.

Although in theory there is a constitutional variant that Metropolitan Chrysostom now replaces Metropolitan Porphyry as a deputy member during the Synod’s illness, the SOC leadership speculates that the “church government” will not supposedly meet until its interim president recovers from the corona virus.

One of the main tasks now before the Synod is to schedule an electoral assembly in which a new head of the Serbian Orthodox Church will be elected.

As for Bishop David, as Danas unofficially finds out, he was released from the hospital on December 2.

It was not possible to officially confirm this information, because they do not have the blessing of the bishop to speak with journalists at the headquarters of the Diocese of Kruševac. We were directed to the diocesan website, where after a “break” of about ten days on December 4, Bishop David published an article titled: “Seventh National Force: Your Honorable and Dishonorable Activists in Our Country Yesterday and Today.”
