KIKINDA – Kikinda’s Ivana and Milan Pasic are still unable to recover from the shock they suffered Thursday morning when a fellow citizen (36) broke into their home and seriously damaged it.
Just due to a combination of strange circumstances, no one was injured in this freak car accident. As the police confirmed, the traffic accident occurred around 5:20 am, on Sava Lipovanova Street.
She was challenged by a Kikinda woman (36) who was driving an Opel Vectra. For reasons not yet determined, he “corrected” the curve and sank into a room of the house on the corner of the street. She was treated at Kikinda Hospital and a corresponding report will be filed against her after the investigation.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time such terrible things have happened in our city. In previous years, drivers also crashed into the houses of their fellow citizens. Milan describes to Kurir what happened while it was still dark outside:
– The phone woke me up at four thirty, but I didn’t get out of bed right away. When I had to get up, go to the bathroom and start getting ready for work, and then I walked into this room, now totally destroyed, something broke. The thought crossed my mind that the earthquake, or the boiler had exploded, maybe an hour of gas. The blow was terrible, like an earthquake, and then a cloud of dust rose. When I somehow turned on the light, I heard a neighbor calling me from the street. He told me that the woman at the wheel of the car hit my house – says Milan and continues:
He continued straight around the bend, hit the acacia tree, pulled it out and got into the room along with the car. For about 10 to 15 minutes he was unconscious. The firefighters had to cut up the car because they couldn’t get it out of our house in any other way. When she regained consciousness, the policeman asked her if she knew what had happened and where she was … Among other things, he asked the woman if she had consumed alcohol. She nodded affirmatively – says Milan and admits with resignation that during the last four years, since they bought this house, they have spent a lot of money to fix and equip it. Now it is almost completely destroyed:
– Fortunately, our daughter, who is only 14 months old, slept with her grandmother that night, with a dumpling down her throat, adds Milan. It is also difficult for his wife Ivana.
They found a bottle under the passenger seat.
When he regained consciousness, when asked if something hurt, we read on his lips that his legs and back hurt. Nodding her head, she confirmed that she had consumed alcohol, and in the cabin we also found a bottle of a drink, under the passenger seat – Ivana told us.
– What I fear most is that the damaged beam will not yield, so that the part of the house that is not damaged will collapse. We are waiting for the appraisers to determine the damage, which is huge. Every now and then there are creaks in the damaged part of the house … When it exploded, I thought it was an earthquake. I screamed and ran out of the house. I literally jumped the door because it couldn’t be opened. I saw a woman in the car. She did not move. We were not allowed to touch her and the police and the ambulance came quickly – said Ivana.
